Uniting Devs for Crowdsourced Gamedev
The Game Co-Op (GCO) was founded by a group of individuals who previously collaborated at Small Loan Studios (SLS). At SLS, we successfully developed a 50k-word visual novel in just 30 days, with a dedicated team of 40 volunteers. This experience has given us valuable skills and insights into larger-scale game development.
Our inaugural project, Our Ruinous Gods (ORG), serves as a cornerstone for our long-term vision. As we are building our infrastructure from the ground up, ORG offers a unique opportunity to bring our team together, refine our operating procedures, and establish the pipelines that will be used in future projects.
The GCO was established with three key objectives in mind:
1. To eventually incorporate as a non-profit organization, operating under a revenue-sharing model.
2.To provide game developers with the opportunity to work on larger-scale projects, utilizing industry-standard tools, workflows, and collaborative techniques that may not be available in smaller game jams.
3. To demonstrate that it is possible to crowdsource the creation of exceptional games without the need for crunch or 40-hour workweeks.
